General

What is DocuAssist? DocuAssist is an AI platform that lets you upload documents and chat with them. Instead of reading through hundreds of pages, you ask questions and get instant answers with citations from your own files.

What file types are supported? PDF, DOCX, DOC, XLSX, XLS, TXT, and Markdown (.md).

Is my data private? Yes. Your documents are stored securely in your account. They are never shared with other users or used to train AI models. All data access is protected by Row Level Security.


Knowledge Base & Documents

Why is my document stuck on "Processing"? Processing usually takes 5–30 seconds. If it stays in "Processing" for more than 2 minutes, try deleting and re-uploading the document. If the issue persists, contact support.

Why does the AI say "I don't have information about that"? The AI only answers based on your uploaded documents. If the answer isn't in any document, it will say so. Make sure the relevant document has been uploaded and its status is "Completed".

Can I upload the same document twice? Yes, but it will create a duplicate. Delete the old version first to avoid redundant answers.

Is there a file size limit? Yes — the maximum file size per upload is 15 MB. Files exceeding this limit will be rejected with an error message. If your document is larger, consider splitting it into smaller parts before uploading.


Chat & AI

Can I chat in Slovak even if my documents are in English? Yes. The AI responds in the language you write in, regardless of the document language.

Does the AI remember previous conversations? Yes, conversation history is saved per Knowledge Base. The AI uses the last few messages as context when generating responses.

What is Thinking Mode? Thinking Mode enables extended reasoning using advanced AI models. Use it for complex documents where multi-step logic is required. It is available on Premium and Team plans.

What is AI Wiki? AI Wiki is a pre-generated summary layer for your Knowledge Base. When enabled, DocuAssist creates a structured summary of every document and an overall KB overview. This context is automatically injected into every chat, improving answers for aggregate questions like totals, comparisons, and cross-document summaries. AI Wiki is available on Premium and Team plans and must be generated manually from KB settings.

Why are answers about totals or summaries sometimes incomplete? The AI retrieves document fragments (chunks) — for very large Knowledge Bases, it may not see every document in a single query. Generating an AI Wiki solves this by pre-summarizing all documents into a compact context that is always included.


Billing & Plans

Can I cancel my subscription at any time? Yes. Go to Account → Manage Subscription. Your plan stays active until the end of the current billing period.

What happens to my documents if I downgrade to Free? Your data is preserved, but you lose access to premium features. If you have more than 5 documents, you won't be able to upload new ones until you are within the Free limit.

Is there a free trial? Every account starts on the Free plan at no cost. No credit card is required.


Widget & API

Can I use the widget on multiple websites? Yes. Create a separate API key for each website. You can revoke any key independently.

Is the widget secure? Yes. API keys are stored as SHA-256 hashes and each key is scoped to a single Knowledge Base.


Account

How do I change my password? Go to Account → Security and use the "Change Password" option.

How do I delete my account? Contact support at info@docuassist.sk. We will delete all your data permanently.
